At the beginning of September I packed the boys into the car and headed to Minnesota to meet our newest Nephew Peyton Daniel Watts! The drive is estimated to be 16 hours...but don't worry, we made it in 21! AHH!!! Chris couldn't leave the same time as us, so we drove to Pittsburgh and my dad flew in and met us there and drove the remainder of the way. It was a LONG drive...but the boys were FANTASTIC in the car. Thank heavens for modern technology letting you watch movies in the car :)
(A little story...not recommended for the queasy) The drive to Pitt is about 4 hours with the remaining 12 - 13 to Minnesota. On the LONG drive day, Logan just wasn't really himself. He kept saying that he didn't feel good, he wouldn't eat, but I didn't know what to do...so we drove. About 4 hours into the drive, my dad looked back and Log started to throw up all over himself...poor dude. Luckily he hadn't really eaten anything and just had a lot of liquids...so it didn't stink. So I pulled over (on the super fast high way) and got him to the side of the road and that is where the magic happened...poor guy! But after he emptied his tummy on the side of the road...he was fine and we had zero incidents. I just felt bad for the little guy.
We got to Minnesota by about 10 Friday night and I headed to our hotel (thinking it would be better if Logan was sick to not be around a 1 week old baby for the night). The next day we headed over to Amanda and Chads and hung out with them. Grandpa Steve and Jason wanted to go see the Niagara Caves and so they took the boys on a little adventure....and they loved it!
Waiting to go in the cave with Grandpa
Uncle Ja and the boys!
QUOTE: When the boys got back I asked Logan how the caves were...he said, Good. Then I said, well what did you see? And he says, "Nufling! There was no bears, no dragons, no trolls....just nofling." I guess the little guy was a bit disappointed that nothing "scary" was there. Ha!
Sunday we headed to church for the baby blessing...but not before a little photography practice :)
Logan didn't want to take off his Jammies...so he wore them under...oh my love!
Cool dude!
Amanda and Chad with Peyton!
Our family with the sweet baby
Yes...those are my kids!
Monday we went to a little zoo/animal refuge that was FREE with the fam. The boys loved it!
Don't worry...I was a baby hog as much as possible :)
The drive home was much less eventful. We split it into two days...one 10 hours and the other 8. We even stopped at burger king on the way.
Thanks baby Peyton for letting us come. We love you!
