We have been in our home for a few months now and things are starting to come together...but it is so SLOW!!! But here is a little PReVieW of our upstairs living room...PS everything you see hanging on the wall is totally DIY! They were fun projects! And the cutest lamp ever???? from Kirkland's Home Store (in Minnesota), which I just found out we have here in Pennsylvania only 30 minutes away at a pretty sweet Outlet Mall! So enjoy the PReVieW...I am hoping to get all rooms decorated...well at least mostly by Thanksgiving :)
I had to include this little memory...so we were hanging our pictures on the wall and Chris says to me...we need to brighten up this room a little with some color...so we crafted...well Chris crafted and I supervised! I place my finger on the canvas guiding him where to go! Good times. Sometimes I think Chris could have done so many other things...he is FULL of talent! Yeah! Babe!
Just in case you never saw what this room looked like before we bought it! UGLY! So updates we have made. #1 new flooring in a dark Walnut...not real hardwood, but still pretty classy. #2 Chris put up a fresh coat of grey paint that I love love love. After watching many many many episodes on HGTV, they convinced me of the classy-ness of the color grey...totally changes the look of the room...don't ya think?
I know I shouldn't take pics at night, but this IS just the preview. We don't have blinds or curtains in the is room yet...so that is on the list. I just haven't found any I like. We are also going to hang something in the space between the two windows AND we are going to get this book shelf from IKEA to put opposite the couch. It all take moola...so we have to do it slowly...believe me it is not easy for me AT ALL!!!
As I said before in my little preface, all things on this main wall are DIY. I wanted a sunburst mirror so bad and so I made it...with lots of shims, lots of hot glue and lots of dark walnut stain...and I love it!
Chris' artwork...isn't it so modern??? (wink)
All together! We love it!
I scored this baby at Salvation Army Family Store for $15 bucks! I wanted some kind of end table that had storage and when I saw it, I knew it was meant to be...a litte dramatic, but seriously how it went! I also wanted somewhere to put the kids library books (so we didn't mix them with our own) and voila! It is perfecto! Add to the list...new lamp...but it works for now!Remember the cute silhouettes? Here they are!
The aforementioned bookcase will go in this space (lying on it's side) under our little picture cluster!
And there you have it...a little Sneak Peak into our home...more to come soon...we PROMISE!

looks so great ....don't you love things even more when you did them your self?!?!?!?
Chris made that art....like created it? That is crazy. Do not let Kirsten know that he does these things or she will try and steal him from you because I am so pathetic. I really hope to see this house someday and eventually redeem myself in pong.
