Creepy Crawlers

In my home, the laundry room is in the basement and is unfinished.  It is equipped with the pull string light and everything, but it does have a swinging door, which is pretty sweet.  Anyways....every time I go in there I hold open the door and stretch for the light...because more times than not there are little creepy Crawlers waiting for me.  Don't worry, I am a spider-phob...but these babies might take the cake...the centipede.  First they are just FREAKY looking and second they are faster than any spider I have ever met!  So I am never able to kill them...plus I would only step on them and who wears shoes in their house to do laundry?  I guess I better start.  But this morning, I might have been victorious.  So I inched into the laundry room as always...didn't see a thing...but then from behind me it came...at it's freak-ish speed!  A sudden calm came across me and my thinking skillz took over...there was sitting a 5 gallon paint bucket...so I slammed it on the guy...not sure if he is dead, but definitely trapped (I hope).  So I have a home-improvement list and finishing the laundry hadn't even crossed my mind...but I think as of late it is ON the list now and slowly creeping it's way to the top!
