QUIRKY ME!

So, yes, I am super busy, but never too busy to write on my blog!  So here goes...thanks Lindsay!

1.  When I was little, my mom used to give us macaroni and cheese with applesauce.  Now that I am older, I don't like macaroni and cheese, but if I do eat it, I have to have applesauce with it and I mix it all together.  Yes...you read it right, I stir the mac and cheese and applesauce together!  It is the only way to eat the nasty stuff =D

2.  I hate wearing normal shoes.  I like to wear high heels always.  It is very rare when I wear flats.  I tell Chris that it is because I like the way I feel when I am taller.  It makes me feel "sexy!"  However, I will wear flip-flops in the summer.  I LOVE THEM!

3.  I HATE! HATE! HATE! the sound of cracking knuckles, backs, necks, etc.  It totally makes me cringe.  It is awful!  And funny thing, I married the main man of the cracking back and neck.  Not a good thing!

4.  I absolutely love to teach high school students, but if you ask me to stand in front of a group of my peers or people older than I am, I freak out!  I hate it!  Explain that one???

5.  I break into song at every opportunity.  I sing when I wake up the boys, I sing as I am changing diapers, giving baths.  You name it, and I will start singing a song about it.  At school, if the kids say something that reminds me of a song, I will sing it!   I love music and it makes me happy.  I think that I drive Chris nuts!  I really could live the life of a musical and I would be in heaven!  NERD!!!  But, I do have to say that my nutty-ness has rubbed off on Chris because he too has started singing the "wake-up" song.

6.  I tend to interupt/finish people's sentences because I get so excited to talk to people my own age.  It is really annoying...I do it to Christin all of the time...sorry Christin.  I am working on keeping my mouth shut and listening.  I really just like to talk =b

The rules:  list 6 quirky things about your self and then tag 6 people
1.  Christin
2. Amanda
3. Meagan
4. Megan (I don't think I have tagged you..ever :(
5. Angie
6. Kristen

Where we YOU when the world stopped turning?

I saw that Sheri posted about this on her blog and I loved the idea.
7 years ago today...I was driving to work at The Before and After School Program at Virginia Palmer Elementary when I heard on the radio that there was chaos in Washington D.C. They never eluded to much, but I kept hoping they would say what was happening. Then, when I got to work all of the parents were upset and started to fill me in. Though I wasn't in D.C., nor did I know anyone who lived there, I went numb. I was terrified..."what if they decide to attack the west coast next?" was all that I could think about. I went through the day in a daze and the hardest part was trying to keep the kids that I supervised calm because they didn't quite understand what was happening.
As I thought about all that was happening, I was reminded of the CES fireside on Sunday, September 9, 2001 given by President Hinckley, that I had attended. I remebered him speaking about how our future world and our own individual futures, though faced with tragedy and trials, would be ok. WOW! Amazing to me that maybe he didn't know what was going to happen on ly 2 days later, but he was definitely inspired to speak to the college-aged youth. I love that man deeply and I know that he truly was a prophet of God. I invite you to read that talk he gave if you have time. (Click on the picture to view the talk that he gave)
So the question I pose to anyone who wants to share...Where were YOU when the world stopped turning on that September day?

TTA-What is your favorite school subject or college course?

So, if you don't already know me super well, then I guess I will have to tell you that MATH is my absolute favorite. I think that it's just because I am good at it and having things work out objectively suits me! But for those of you out there that hate it, here you go...

Summer is over...Back to the Grind!

We can hardly believe that summer is already gone! It feels like just yesterday that the weather was warm enough to get outside. But hence, when you have fun...it goes by super fast! This week was our second week back in the GRIND. Chris is back in school all day long and studying at night. I am back to work trying desperately to teach Math to a bunch of kids that are also depressed that summer is over. So here are some highlights from our last week of summer.

We went out to Donner lake with our best friends the Johnson's. We found a little dock off the road and played in the water all afternoon! It was a lot of fun.  Here is Tracen and his buddy Brayden.
The "HOT MAMAS" trying to cool off!
The lazy guys doing what they do best!
Our last free Friday we took the kids to the Movie at the Park.  We saw Enchanted!  I loved it, but Chris, Tracen and Logan decided to take a nap!
The boys...Uncle Chad, Daddy and Tracen.
This is really blurry, but I thought that it was a super cute picture of Tracen and Morgan at the movie!
This sums it all up...but I don't usually talk about losing pounds. Except I am a walking add for the South Beach Diet! I literally lost 10 pounds in two weeks and am happy to say that I am only 2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight with Logan. Now I just need to get in shape and get working out again!
