SHAPING UP:  Do YOU Workout???  TTA

So, I saw the TTA's on Kristina and Sheri's blog, and since I never really write much as far as journaling goes, I thought that I would give it a try.  So do I workout?  Well, I have been, but I have missed 4 weeks!  No good, I know....but I have some really good excuses...

week 1) I got super sick

week 2) I stuck a bobby pin through my toe and was told to hang low for a week (dr.'s orders)  

week 3) the busies week ever...need I say more?

week 4) that's this week...so, I will only miss two days

My usual workout is Mon - Thurs, 45 minutes of cardio (usually the eliptical) followed by 45 minutes of lifting.  I workout with my sister-in-law Christin and we having been going for about a year now.  We alternate our lifting between arms/chest and legs.  We do backs and abs everyday.  I guess I better get back to the plan tomorrow.  It is so easy to fall out of the routine.

Friday, we are hoping to start taking a class at our gym and Saturdays I have been running about 3 miles when my knees allow.  Since I had little Logan, my knees have been acting up which is so annoying!  But, I just work through it, because we have got to get training for our first 1/2 marathon in October!  Wish us luck!

The busiest week of the summer!

This week was the most crazy week ever! Usually, I have one or two things to do...but not this week, we had many! From going to the lake, haircuts, surgery, the temple, play group, swimming with Ava, pedicures, bbqs, wedding, a baby shower, and our ward pioneer day celebration we were non- stop. Oh yeah and I almost forgot to mention the sleep over! So here is the update for those who requested the pictures. I probably should wait to post any pics of the wedding until Amanda gets to see them, but ohwell....she'll forgive me!

Chris went to surgery with his dad on Wednesday!  He had a great time! And I think that it was a proud moment for his dad too!

Sleep over central!  We had Ally and Zack over on Wednesday night.  We ate chicken ring, got ice cream and played lots of games.

Ok, so we threw my sister-in-law, Jessica, and my brother, Jason, a baby shower on Sunday!  So much fun, we made it a couples shower, but I didn't plan any games.  This was my present.  It is a diaper cake for those of you who have never seen one!  This was my first attempt and I am really proud of how it turned out!  The parents-to-be are having a boy (Miles) and they are decorating his room in Jungle theme...hence my jungle themed cake!

Amanda & Chad's amazing cake!  I wanted one just like this for my wedding, but I got vetoed by Chris...don't get me wrong, I loved the cake we ended up with, but isn't this amazing and unique?  Good choice sister!  The cake was beautiful and so was the wedding!

BONKERS!  Tracen is always hitting his head on things, well today was no different, but he hit his head/ear on the edge of our computer desk and now has a growth!

Here in Reno we rarely get rain, but today we had our first thunderstorm of the summer.  I love the rain, so we set up our lawn chairs on the patio and watched the rain.  Tracen, being the full-blown boy he is, decided to go run and jump in the water!

Sand Harbor

Finally!  We made it up to the lake today!  It is awful that we live only 30 minutes from one of the most beautiful places and we haven't taken advantage of it yet.  But Chris is done working with Dr. Dobbs (a local orthopedic surgeon) and so we have the rest of the summer for some fun adventures.  We went to Sand Harbor with my sister and her fiance (Amanda & Chad) who have only 4 days until they tie the knot, and my niece and nephew (Ally & Zack)!  We had a bunch of fun with the kids and Tracen loved the whole day!  Even Logan was lovin' it!

Overall, we had a really fun day. The weather was great and we had lots of fun!

Whats been happening...

I really haven't been very diligent in updating what we have actually been doing.  With the exception of stepping on bobby pins, we  had a lot of fun over the past few weeks...so here are some pictures to let you know what's going on!

Tracen has had a couple of play dates with his best buddie Jake! Jake's mommy is having her second little one (Lucas Christopher) on Thursday!

Aunt Stacey gave us a fun new toy...Shake 'n Go Cars! Tracen loves it!!

Grandma Maree gave us a swivel sweeper to help clean up the messes around the house. Tracen hates the vacuum, but he loves the swivel sweeper!

We went to Bounce Around and indoor bounce house on June 28th for Morgan's birthday! It was a hit, not only with the kids, but with the BIG KIDS as well! Chris challenged his younger brother Kenton to a boxing match...I wonder who won?

On the fourth of July we had a BBQ with our families and our friends Lindy and Adam...I was a bit crazy that day and I forgot to take pictures...sorry, but we bought this other pool for the party and it was a hit! Tracen likes it even more than the whale one because, surprise-surprise, it has a basketball hoop!

Logan turned 3 months on the 5th! He is a chubber chubb, but we like him lots! I can't believe it has already been 3 months...why haven't I lost the weight yet? Oh no, I guess it IS harder after the 2nd baby!  So we have a chubby mama and a chubby bubba!!!  He is quite the flirt!

Uh...duh!

Definitely me on this one...it is like pulling teeth to get him to help

Mostly me...but Chris is an amazing cook...he just throws things together and it always tastes good!

I think I take that one too...he is really laid back and wants me to be happy.

It switches off. depends on the situation.

I take this one too...Chris is pretty good about cleaning up, but actually cleaning is another thing...he goes for clean appearance rather than actually clean.

I think we share the pants!

16. What do you like to do together?
Watch movies, play with the kids, go to the lake, drive to far away places, go on walks, go to the park, play basketball(I can kick his trash at free throws) are newest thing is memorizing scriptures...so far we have done 3. We just started Monday night!

Me..me..me...I can't live without my icecream and Chris hates chocolate or sweet stuff..except brownies and an occasional cookie

Strawberries and Whip cream

19. How did you meet?
At school...I actually wanted him to date my friend, but then it just kinda happened

He did. We went fishing in the dark

His eyes and I love his lips

22. What is his greatest quality?
Everything...Chris is my dream guy...literally I had a list and everything...I just wish he would open up a little more about what he thinks about. He is always worried about every one else that he keeps things bottled up.

Bobby pins attack!

Freak accidents are my thing...I can't just fall and scrape my knee, I punch the ground and break my hand in two places...I can't just have a baby and be good to go, I have to get bells palsy and paralyze my face (only about 1% of new Moms get this mind you)...I can't go to the lake and get a sunburn, no I have to get 2nd degree burns which land me in the E.R. with walnut size blisters on the back of my legs! So you get the point, well today ranks right up there, might even take the cake! I was getting ready for the day...Logan was asleep, Tracen was watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so it was perfect timing. I was walking out of my bathroom to get dressed and felt something prick...yes, prick is what it felt like at first, my toe. But when I looked down, there was a bobby pin stuck in my toe! When I looked closer, it wasn't just in my toe, but it was also out the other side! I called my mom to get up the courage to pull it out, but when I tugged on it, it was stuck! AAAAHHH! What was I to do? So, I called my bro-in-law to come tug it out, but he too couldn't get it out and now I was crying! So to shorten it up a bit...thank heavens for bro-in-laws who come to my rescue and take me to none other than my father-in-law, who gets me all fixed up! Thanks to neighbors who watch my kids at the drop of a dime while they wait for amazing MOMs to come watch those darlings! Thanks to everyone who helped me out today! And, I will try to avoid any further freak accidents! or bobby pin attacks!
