Hershey Park in the Dark!

The past two Friday Nights we have headed over to Hershey Park In the Dark!  Last week we went in our normal street clothes until we got there and realized that you could wear costumes and they had a little area to go trick or treating in (TREATVILLE).  So despite the freezing weather...last night we got our costumes on and bundled up and headed over to Hershey Park's Treatville.  I was so lame...I thought, "I have already taken so many pictures, I don't need to take the camera."  TOTALLY LAME!  The little Treatville was decked out in Halloween and we got to watch a really fun music show called "The Screaming Mummies."  I think Tracen was in HEAVEN!  He was jumping up and down in pure delight as they sang songs like "Love Potion #9,"  "Walk Like an Egyptian," "Ghost busters" and many more!  It was so dang cute.  They also sang "The Time Warp" and he was shaking his booty with the best of them.  Ha!  I love it!  I love that he loves music!  If it wasn't supposed to be a huge storm tonight, I would totally have taken them again tonight just to go to the show and get some pictures.  Anyways...it was a super fun time!

 Getting ready to go!
I love my little boys!  They love being Brothers... most of the time :)
Favorite ride...Frog Hopper aka Body Tickler
Our first time on the Monorail (now a favorite!)

All the Hershey guys come out in their costumes...Tray and I got a picture with Reeses!  Logan wouldn't join us.  BOO!

Halloween Frenzy

We have had a heck of a Halloween Week...AND it's not ever Halloween yet!
We had Family Night Pumpkin Painting Monday, the Hershey Parade on Tuesday, Tracen's school Parade and party on Wednesday...and today is Thursday and we just got done Trick or Treating (don't worry...that's what they do here...they set certain days to trick or treat AND you can only go 6 pm - 8pm...I love it!)  Still coming up...Hershey Park in the Dark trick or treating tomorrow...A Halloween Party Saturday and the Hummelstown Parade on Monday actual Halloween...I'm tellin' ya...Halloween is bigger than Christmas here...I think?

OOOOHHHHH!!! My personal favorite...lol

This year TRACEN HAD TO BE FRANKENSTEIN...once he got it in his head, there was no turning back...but he didn't want those poky things to be on his neck...oh sweet Tracen you are particular!
PS...I could be biased...but that is one AMAZING Frankenstein and what I love about it is it was one that not everyone had...all the little boys around wanted to be super heroes...fine and I love that Tracen wanted to be his own thing!  I love different costumes...and I love getting creative with them!
My little Frank and Captain A-merica!
Logan and I got to help at Tracen's school party.  He is doing so well in school right now and I absolutely love his teachers Mrs. Hoover and Mrs. Maddison.  They are awesome...their classroom is a well-oiled machine...the kids know what their jobs are and they are executed perfectly.  I am truly impressed!

Tracen's class..+1 Little Brother

Doing the monster mash :)

In Pennsylvania they do Trick or Treating the Thursday before Halloween...I don't know what they do if Halloween lands on a Thursday and I don't exactly know why they chose Thursday???  The nice man at the post office was trying to explain something about things would be bad the night before Halloween....I don't know...it's just what they do.  The other thing is they put a time frame on it...6pm - 8pm sharp.  Once 8pm hits...police patrol the streets and tell people to go home.  I actually kind of like it because you can close up shop...get kids to bed and be done for the night.
So this year Chris is on night float so he didn't get to go Trick or Treating with us...so we went with our friends the Sorensons (their dad was on call...lame medical people...boo!)  I had to leave a bowl of candy on my porch...People, I way over prepare...this is said bowl of candy AND I had more.  But to my credit...all candy was bought with coupons AND I was going to go to a trunk or treat Tuesday but ended up going to the parade instead...anyways...definitely was prepared and luckily people don't ever just take one or two like the sign says...they take HANDFULS so I don't have too much left!

The Trick or Treaters - minus grumpy Logan who didn't want a picture
Ben, Max, Tracen, Larissa, Annie
Our Trick or Treating adventure lasted all of about 45 minutes before it was too cold (ps...it rained all day long and how lucky were we that it didn't rain the entire time we were out trick or treating...score!) and little boys were tired.  So we came to my house and as soon as I announced that we were going to watch Disney's Halloween Treat the mood immediately changed and we had happy kids again!  During our said adventure however, our friends the Dalling's joined the crew.  The Dalling's parked in our driveway to Trick or Treat with us and they drive a nice white mini-van...don't worry...you need to know this.
So quote of the night:  we head home and are walking toward the garage...of course the kids are in front of us excited to get out of the freezing cold and watch their movie and Marie, Leslie and I are behind chatting.  Out of nowhere Logan come running towards me, "Mom!  Mom!  Are you so excited...you got a new car!  How exciting!  I love it is is so cool"...and so forth as he is pointing to none other than the white mini-van parked in the drive-way that belongs to the Dalling's.  Ha!  love it!  He was SO EXCITED...I couldn't break his little heart and tell him it wasn't ours...so I just acted excited and we giggled at his innocence.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Risser-Marvel Pumpkin Patch

On Friday last week we bundled up in the FREEZING cold and headed to a local farm's pumpkin patch and corn maze.    We got to learn about different types of pumpkins, go on a hay/straw ride around the farm, pick a pumpkin, play in a "sand box" filled with corn kernels, and go through a fun corn maze.  It was a lot of fun!
